Restores and renews the color and finish
of leather articles:
Auto Upholstery
Furniture
Leather Jackets and Clothing
Luggage and Handbags
Horse Tack and Saddles
Sports Equipment
All Leather will eventually wear and fade. Light surface
cracks will appear which causes the leather to look old and deteriorated,
but the leather itself is still in good condition. All that is needed
to restore the finish is a new color coat. This kit allows you to recolor
worn and faded leather easily. The color coat provided is a water based
material that is designed to be highly compatible with leather. The finish
provided will be a permanent, long lasting finish that will give you many
years of service. Available in custom colors too! Just provide us the
color information of your item and we will custom match the color for
you. One kit provides enough material to recolor two automotive Bucket
seats, or the seating area of one medium sized sofa. If deep cracks exist
in your leather, it will be necessary to fill these cracks with one of
our Leather Repair Kits first. Many scratches caused by animal claws or
other items being scraped over the surface of the leather may also be
refinished using this kit, so long as the scratches are not deep into
the leather.
To obtain custom matched colors, we need the following information:
A sample of the leather is the best method to obtain the proper color.
This sample may usually be obtained from the underside of the frame. there
is almost always excess material left by the manufacturer that has been
wrapped around the frame of the seating area that a small (1"X 1")
patch may be removed. We will gladly match the color of your kit to this
sample.
If this method is not possible, we may be able to match the color in
our formula books if we are provided with the following information: Auto:
Make, Model and year of Car, Name of Color, Interior Color Code.
Furniture: Manufacturer Name, Style, Color Name and/or Code. In most
cases, in order to obtain a perfect color match, it is most beneficial
to send us a small sample swatch of the material that you wish to recolor.
Color codes give us the formula that is specified by the manufacturer,
but many times these colors vary a great deal because of dye lot differences,
style of leather, and many other factors. In some cases, a color formula
is not available, and the only way that we have to match the color is
by means of a sample swatch. A small piece ( 1" x 1") may
usually be removed from the underside of the furniture without causing
any problems.
Suggestion: It may be easier to locate a "paint chip" from
a local paint store. If we are provided with a sample of the color that
you desire we will be able to match from just such a sample. Make certain
that the sample that you provide to us is as close as possible to the
color that you desire, since we will be matching to that color only

I never write testimonials but had to for Leather Magic. I just finished my love seat and sofa. It is a beautiful quality set, 25 years old and was in the need of re coloring.
It is absolutely beautiful, looks like new. I am so happy. The procedure was easy and I'm sure if followed properly no one can possibly be disappointed. The color turned out exact and I picked a stock color. I now will do another set at our cabin but will send a sample to color match because it is not such an easy color. Thank you so much.

Amazing and Easy

I'd bought a used leather couch even though I knew it looked terrible because we would never have been able to afford a new one of the same quality. I took a chance that somehow I would be able to fix it or accept that old leather looks good.
Anyway, I was excited about trying this after searching on the internet. The instructions were great because it not only said what to do, it also commented on what not to do! That helps so much!
The process would have been quicker but I wanted to make sure I was doing this perfectly and getting the best look possible. The prep was so easy. I didn't want to sand the scratches and worn area to make them "worse" but I believe that is one of the important steps to what made the final finish perfect. Then the leather compound worked better that I thought and was so easy. I used several very thin coats smoothing it and spreading out the edges. I must say the areas looked terrible but when I ran my finger over the repair I couldn't tell the difference between the scuffed area and the unscuffed areas. Then the part that I was worried about, the spray. The directions say to practice before. I did - a lot - I made the bubbles, I turned the can, I shook it, I basically did all the wrong things first to see what and how mistakes are made. When I went to the couch everything worked perfectly. No bubbles, no mess, just a gentle smooth spray. I started in the middle and spread outward never using the applicator spreading sponge. When I finished I wanted to do another couch! To add the final touch, I'd bought some of the metal tacks that are used on very expensive leather couches and tapped them into the arms. Now my $200 couch looks like $1000 and I love it. This could become a hobby, buying old things and making them look new! Thanks for the kit, at the price you charge for everything, I think I should owe you something!

Motor Cycle Seat

Hi Renee,
I just wanted to let you know that I used the Leather Magic kit on my motorcycle seat. I attached two pictures showing the before and after. The original color was a light salmon color. The new color is what you mixed and is PERFECT!.
I am extremely thrilled with the results! It is EXACTLY what I wanted color-wise, and it did just the job I expected! I will definitely recommend your products for anyone who needs vinyl recoloring or repair.
I learned a few things and have a bit of information to share with you in case you wanted to put this on your website for anyone wanting to use your products in a similar application.
Due to the detailed nature of the design, masking the area off completely was not possible and the spray applicator wouldn't work either due to the risk of overspray. I put newspaper on the large parts of the seat to protect the bike from any drips. After prepping the area, I used the sponge brush to apply the first coat. Since it was a hot, breezy day, the dye dried almost immediately. I went back over and did a second coat then a third coat, with each coat dried in between.
I noticed at that point that I was applying the dye too thick. I was getting blotchy streaks and the area looked "painted" rather than letting the vinyl grain come through. In some cases, the paint collected in the stitching in the design and was hiding the detail.
What I did next was take some of the vinyl prep solution (the alcohol based one) on a paper towel and cotton swabs and wiped off most of the dye back to the original color. I reapplied a lighter, thinner coat of dye with the sponge brush. Let that dry. Then, using a cotton swab with minimal dye on it, applied the remaining coats. This gave me greater control and allowed me to use thin coats with no streaking. It also let me get into the detail areas much easier.
I did have a little "overpaint" on some of the edges, but a cotton swab with the vinyl prepping solution wiped it right off! Then, I let that sit for a few hours before applying the final, thin coat with a cotton swab again. There were a total of three to four thin coats applied. While you can't see the grain in the picture, you definitely can see the grain in person. It looks like the original color from when the seat was made!
Overall, a little time and patience was needed due to the detailed work, and some fiddling to get the technique right to ensure the dye looked natural and not painted. In the end, it came out perfect!
Now the color perfectly matches my bike thanks to Leather Magic!
